Pressed Tin Panels Used In A Wall Situation.

Photographs kindly supplied by Ian Bawden of Bunbury, Australia.

Ian is completing this project as time permits.  He had a problem with rising damp which he couldn't solve to his satisfaction.  He has now fixed marine ply to his walls and is nailing his pressed tin panels to the ply.

He is using the Original (P) panel to create a Dado along the walls in his home.  Several of our panels are 300 mm (3") wide which makes them perfect for use as a Dado.  The panels sit on top of a skirting board and are finished off with a nice timber trim along the top.  Further photographs will be obtained as Ian's project continues.

Marine ply is attached to the walls as a sub-strata.  This product was chosen in order to keep moisture away from the metal surface.

Timber mouldings are used in the corners of the room and the pressed tin panels can either be butted against the timber or slid just under the timber.

The tin panels need to be cut so that the pattern repeat is consistent after traversing the corner of the room

Timber trim is used on any outside corners.  Ian will be painting his tin ceiling panels when all of them have been attached.
