Sharron's shiny Fishscale splashback

In Sharron's words:

"My husband and l started building our own home from scratch 2 years ago. We were like most owner builders completely deluded about how hard it would be and how much more expensive the process would be. Anyway we moved in before bathrooms were complete and the kitchen was done also. Over the past 6 months we have slowly finished everything off and the kitchen was the last section. With money getting tight we wanted a modern kitchen but on a budget. We ended up with a Kaboodle kitchen which we are happy with but it needed something more than just the colored splash backs and tiles that are on offer.

That’s when l found Heritage Ceilings website and was instantly in love with the product. After reading all that l could about the product and 2 phone calls to Jean l was sold on the idea. We choose the Large Fish Scale design for our project and couldn’t be happier ............

........... Once we had placed the product on the wall l spent an hour buffing  it with a cloth to get our finger prints off it and then we sealed it with a diamond finish clear coat which is used by the car industry. The company name is KBS Coatings. It is expensive, $75 for a litre but well worth it. My husband put some paint thinners in it to make it spread easier and we bought a really expensive paint brush with very fine bristles. We did 2 coats and we are over the moon with the finished look."

I asked Sharon what she used to seal the lower edge of the splashback and she said "We sealed the bottom with a grey  color that matched the tiles. The product was Dunlop silicon sealant"
